People were repeatedly told they couldn’t achieve their goals due to their social, ethical or financial circumstances. This unacceptable phrase was also used in 20th century. These words were meaningless to Oprah Winfrey. She made the world a better, more peaceful place and is making it better again. She says “… This is how I came to realize that each person can make their own reality. You can’t blame apartheid. Your possibilities are limitless. You can accomplish anything if you realize that.

Her syndicated talkshow “Oprah Winfrey Show” is the most popular way to know her. But, we don’t know how many trials she went through in order to get to where she is today. Why is she still admired by so many people? What are her qualities that people admire today? Evidently, she didn’t become the person that she is today overnight. She was defeated many times but she found strength by pursuing her dreams. She aspired to become a journalist. Although she was not a person with the same ethnicity, it didn’t stop her from reaching her goal. Business Insider reports that she entered Tennessee State University on April 12, 1971. She began work in Nashville’s radio and TV broadcasting. She was criticized for being emotionally invested in her stories and was fired. It was rumored that she was not “fit” to be a television reporter. She was undoubtedly not broken, and it didn’t make her go to the top. You may be wondering what she achieved at that point. In the following years, she created her own TV show, “Oprah Winfrey Show”, which was rated higher than Phil Donahue’s. Winfrey states, “The most exciting adventure you can ever have is to live the dream life.” This makes it clear that she “has been an important role model to black American women by breaking down many barriers.” She taught people to give money away, rather than receive it. She said that her focus was never on money. She proved that love, perseverance and hard work can make it possible to achieve success. From the very beginning she was poor. She lived with her grandmother until her mother passed away. A number of male friends and relatives of her mother sexually assaulted her starting at nine years old. She was severely affected by the abuse. She knows what it’s like to be poor and how difficult it was to make ends meet. Oprah has also helped South African girls get an education, and raised significant funds for Hurricane Katrina victims. Additionally, at least 10% of her enormous income is donated to charity. Her anonymous work is the best thing. When you consider all of this, I believe that people today will choose to follow those who have moral values and beliefs. Individuals who are good people to the world can change the world.
